INTRODUCTION
In response to global climate change, sustainability assessment in transportation engineering has become a critical issue. Conduct ing sustainability assessment of pav ements can provide reliable knowledge and methods for governments and institutions to improve transportation sustainability. This report will share experiences of conducting pavement sustainability assessment in the United States, with a focus on life cycle assessment( L CA) and environmental product declaration( EP D) as standard methods for selecting sustainable pavement materials and designs. In addition, promoting novel and innovative methods will accelerate the development of intelligent pavement systems. The report also demonstrates the application of physics-in formed machine learning, with3 D pavement finite element data sim ulating pavement structure response research.
